What causes the uncombable hair syndrome?

Uncombable hair syndrome is a rare syndrome that just over 100 children from ages 3 months to 12 months worldwide have. Researchers found that children with the syndrome have mutations in 3 genes. The syndrome does not cause any health problems, and fades away with age, making the hair more combable.
