Baby born with 3 sets of DNA

A baby in the UK was born with 3 sets of DNA – the mother, the father, and the woman donor. Mitochondrial DNA comes from the woman donor and comprises 0.1% of the baby’s DNA. The DNA coming from the donor only affects the ability to build healthy mitochondria, and does not affect the baby’s appearance or traits.
