In the past 7 years, residents of Haifa had a higher percentage of certain types of cancer. Residents of Haifa gave a blood example ad it was discovered that their blood contains dangerous levels of metals that cause cancer, more than residents of other cities in Israel. A lawsuit against the polluting plants is in preparation.
