One giant step towards understanding cancer better

Scientists in the UK analyzed a whole-genome sequence of cancerous tumors from over 12,000 patients. The data will allow them to uncover new and different patterns in the DNA, which can help understand more unknown causes of cancer. Diagnosis and treatment will also improve as a result of a better understanding of the tumor’s DNA.
