The ‘Fantastic Giant Tortoise’ returns

The ‘Fantastic Giant Tortoise’, or Chelonoidis Phantasticus, was considered extinct since the beginning of the 20th century. A loner, small female of the species, was found on the volcanic island of Fernandina in the Galapagos. The tortoise, names Fernanda is estimated to be around 50 years old.
