The lake bacteria that consumes plastic

A naturally occurring bacteria found in 29 European lakes that were examined, grows faster on plastic. The bacteria break the carbon in the plastic and use it as food. This does not mean the plastic pollution problem is solved, as plastic contains many toxic ingredients that affect the environment.
