The first investigation on stray dogs living in Chornobyl’s Exclusion Zone showed that two distinct populations of dogs live there, with different DNA. The two populations rarely interbreed. The research’s goal is to find how humans might be able to cope with extreme radiation conditions by understanding how the dogs populations thrive there.
