The report states that within two decades, the last three terrestrial glaciers in Africa will disappear. There is a close connection to the global warming phenomenon that is hitting the continent, including heat waves, forest fires and severe floods. Terrestrial glaciers are still found in Africa on the summit of Mount Kalimanjaro in Tanzania, Mount Kenya and the Rwenzori Mountains in Uganda.
