Research at Bristol University in England is trying the first blood transfusion from lab-grown blood. In the experiment, they are trying to see how long the lab-grown blood cells will survive in the volunteers’ bodies. They hope that they will survive longer than blood cells from a normal blood transfusion as it is young blood cells.
