New research found evidence for the strongest earthquake in history. The earthquake happened 3,800 years ago in the Atacama desert in Chile. The earthquake was magnitude 9.5 and created 20-meter tsunami waves that crossed the entire Pacific ocean, all the way to New Zealand.
