Where did the Mediterranean sea go?

The Mediterranean waters are receding, more of the coastline is exposed, and small islands are appearing. This combined with the earthquakes in the area concerned residents, thinking a massive tsunami is coming. Scientists say there is no need to worry, this happens every year, only it is amplified this year by a strong anticyclone.
