After 50 years in captivity – Lolita, the orca, will be released

Florida aquarium reached an agreement with an animal welfare organization to release the orca Lolita after 50 years of captivity. Lolita, 57 years old, is retired from performance and will be released back to the pacific northwest within 2 years.
