Israel’s EEZ territory is a habitat for whales and dolphins

Israel’s EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone) includes an area in the deep sea, 15 km off Haifa shore, where whales and dolphins reside regularly. Some of the whale and dolphin species that use it as a habitat are on the IUCN endangered list. They stay mostly in the deep sea from 370 – 1720 meters.
