The livestock is being shipped for fattening and slaughter and is treated poorly on the journey, as injured animals are being thrown offboard to drown. A shipment from Sudan to Saudi Arabia cost the lives of 15,000 sheep as the ship sank due to the overcrowding of the livestock.
